Very sad, that out of ALL that happened in SOCEUR between 1990 and 2000, the recovery of 2 pilots was the headline. From Operation Provide Comfort (supporting the Kurds in Northern Iraq after Desert Storm), to the NEO of Sierra Leone (Silver Anvil) that was the Template for what was to come. Supporting operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina and US Embassy Sarajevo. Rolling into operations in Kosovo by setting up a CJSOTF out of Brindisi, Italy (where the CSAR packages launched from for the down pilots). Meanwhile, SOCEUR and it's units conducted NEOs all over Europe and Africa....the 90s was a non-stop time for SOCEUR.
